At 7.30 p.m. on Saturday 12th October the Scarisbrick churches worked together to host a Barn Dance in the Scarisbrick Village Hall.
Representatives from St. Elizabeth’s, St. Mark’s and Bescar Lane Churches had worked hard to set up the hall, the food and the raffle for the night.
The evening began with a delicious supper of hot-pot followed by apple pie and cream!
The Still Reeling Ceilidh and Barn Dance Band supplied the music.
Their caller, Paul, taught everybody the dances and kept everything going.
By the end of the evening some of us were exhausted!!!
The music was lively and the dancing was fun but not so overwhelming that it wasn’t possible to chat with friends and strangers if we needed a rest!
At 10.00 p.m. the raffle was drawn and then people gradually began to drift away!
However, there were still plenty there when the band stopped playing just before 11.00 p.m.
It was generally agreed that a good time had been had by one and all; old and young; even those who never set foot on the dance floor!
Thank you to
and everyone who worked so hard to make the evening such a success!
Well done everybody – it was good fun!
Thank you to Walter for all these photographs.
