Garden Party at the Good Shepherd Mission 2019

By

With the very variable weather we have been experiencing recently it was with relief that we watched the sky brighten as the day progressed on Saturday 13th July. Yes, it was that time again! Time for those amazing “Posh Teas”!

The gates to the Garden Party had barely opened before people were queuing to order their teas.

Not only was the food yummy but the “teas“ provided a great opportunity to sit down, relax and chat with friends or strangers.

However, “Posh Teas” were by no means the only things to enjoy at the Garden Party.

There was the ever-popular Tombola …

… you could guess the birthday of this beautiful dog ….

… or guess the number of sweets in a jar!

There were gorgeous plants and delicious cakes to buy.

There was also an amazing variety of articles to buy at the Book, Gifts or Bric-a-brac stalls.

If you were feeling lucky you could buy some raffle tickets or have a go on the coconut shy!

The climax of the afternoon was the entertainment provided by a group of girls from Pinfold Primary School.  They called themselves “Girl Power” and had choreographed their own dance routine especially for the occasion.

They did well and there was much applause as they finished. Afterwards Eileen congratulated them on their performance and thanked them for coming along to the Garden Party.

The afternoon ended with the drawing of the raffle and the presentation of prizes for the other competitions.

I think everyone would agree that a good time was had by all and the event, including a few donations, managed to raise an amazing £1,205!

Well done everybody!

Thank you to

everyone who worked so hard to make this event a success,

to Pinfold Primary School for their support

and, of course,

to everyone who came along to have fun and spend their money!
