St. Marks was buzzing at the Mothering Sunday service on Sunday 11th March. I was sorry not to be able to be there. But “thank you, Joan” for this report and, “thank you,Walter” for these photographs.
“Mothering Sunday is a day when we remember the tradition of those, long ago, who returned to their ‘Mother Church” and family, to be together in love and joy.
Our service was an enjoyable one of thanks for our mothers and all they do for us. We were reminded of all they do for us by the puppet family that paid us a visit!
The children from St. Marks and the Brownies also helped us remember by their prayers and singing.
The singing of ‘My Lighthouse’ was enjoyed by all. The actions done by the children (and also Eileen) were a joy to watch.
The children also gave out the flowers and cards to all mothers. This was another enjoyable moment.
The service was brought to a close by Eileen and Patrick (the Methodist minister).”
