Dear Friends,

I love that song “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone that begin with the lyrics

Birds flyin’ high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by, you know how I feel
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me.
Yeah, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me, ooooooooh…
And I’m feelin’ good.

All around, Spring has sprung, longer sunnier days, the spring flowers so vivid in their colours, the birds beginning their singing ever earlier, the evidence shines in our face, that the darkness has gone and the light is here.

But you know this light began months ago, even though we did not really perceive it. All those months back, life was growing and being, while it was still dark, while it was still cold, buds where beginning to blossom, plants were beginning to send out their shoots, birds were gathering for their nests .

We celebrated this new life and light right back at Christmas in the birth of a vulnerable baby; we remembered it when we celebrated the birth of Jesus the Saviour of the world.

This month we remember Jesus cruel and horrific death on the cross, we remember how he was placed in a tomb, the darkest days of our time. But we also remember that this was not the end of the story, no, this was just a new beginning, because as we know on that Easter morning so many years ago, the sinfulness of the world could not beat him, death had no power of him, the grave could not hold him. Because Jesus, the Son of God rose again. What does the bible say about it?

But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back. (1 Corinthians 15:23).

Jesus Saviour of the world, in his death and resurrection, has set us free to come before God. Thank you Jesus.

It’s enough to make you sing

And this old world is a new world and a bold world for me…
Stars when you shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Yeah, freedom is mine, and I know how I feel..
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me
And I’m feelin’… good.

Halleluiah He has Risen

He has risen indeed Halleluiah
